LOCAL AND GLOBAL CHARITIES

we are proud to support

We participate in and support charities and nonprofits here in our hometown of Buffalo and also around the world – because our goal has always been to make a difference wherever help is needed.

Being connected to these charities gives us great joy and makes us feel more deeply invested in the community.

Our initiatives are all due to the wonderful clients whose business enables our charitable work and who often contribute on their own to these causes. It reinforces the sense that our clients are truly a “family of families,” not just business relationships.

Buffalo City Mission began as a soup kitchen in 1917, and still today it’s a community center in downtown Buffalo that provides tens of thousands of meals to people experiencing hunger and homelessness. The mission also offers shelter, recovery programs, skills training and other services to help individuals and families.

We’ve been involved with Buffalo City Mission for nearly 20 years. The name may look familiar to our clients because we donate a meal in their names on their birthdays. Our team members, clients and families have also made financial contributions many times over the years.

Cradle Beach is an outdoor camp just south of Buffalo that’s been operating since 1888. The organization runs summer camps for children who are disabled and economically disadvantaged, and during the rest of the year, it offers overnight retreats. Cradle Beach’s programs provide joy and normalcy for the kids they help. It’s also often the only break that family caregivers have from the intensive job of raising disabled children.

Bailey Financial Group has been involved in Cradle Beach since 2016. We sponsor its annual golf event and held our corporate retreat at the Cradle Beach campus in 2022. We’re proud to support the “CB Crusaders Campaign,” a monthly giving program with a goal of raising $1 million to send more than 1,000 kids to camp.

Another charity that holds a special place in our hearts is the Food Bank of Central New York. It’s not just a local food program; it also operates a 74,000-square-foot warehouse and office space where the charity acquires, inventories and distributes food through a network of 367 partners that include shelters, food pantries and soup kitchens.

Last year, the food bank processed more than 22 million pounds of food, the equivalent of almost 19 million meals, to alleviate hunger across 11 counties in central and northern New York state.
We’ve worked with the Food Bank of Central New York for over five years. We sponsor of the food bank’s annual golf open and SavorSyracuse gala, and Hunger Hope’s partner doing monthly giving. Many of our clients give to the Food Bank of Central New York as well.

Other local organizations and institutions we have supported:

The New York Credit Union Association has committed to advancing the credit union movement by advocating, educating, uniting and supporting the interests of all credit unions statewide since 1917. It’s owned by its members and governed by a volunteer board of directors to serve as the strong, united voice of the New York credit union community.

The Main-Transit Fire Department is a volunteer organization that’s proudly served the town of Amherst since 1936 with emergency medical, fire and motor vehicle rescue services. It has over 85 active members, an emergency volunteer program, a community first support team and a junior firefighter program.

Buffalo Toronto Public Media, formerly WNED/WBFO, is the umbrella group for WBFO and its three television stations, two other radio stations, and digital media platforms. Buffalo Toronto Public Media includes WBFO and the area’s PBS station, PBS KIDS, Create, a classical and a jazz radio station that broadcasts in Western New York and Southern Ontario.

National and global organizations we have supported:

Operation International is another group that just stunned us with its impact. It started with a team in the United States but has since expanded to additional chapters in the U.K. and Hong Kong, with 200 participating surgeons total. Surgeons and medical staff travel yearly to perform needed surgeries on children who don’t have access to surgical care.
We specifically support “Team ENT,” which does surgeries to treat head and neck malignancies or other complex surgeries involving the ear, nose and throat, such as cleft palate surgeries. Team ENT has done multiple missions to Guatemala, Ecuador and the Philippines.

We’ve been proud supporters of Team ENT since 2018. We initially connected to Operation International through a client who’s one of the surgeons, and we saw the sacrifices the doctors and nurses made in their busy working lives to do good for children who needed them.

The Arbor Day Foundation is a nonprofit conservation and education organization with a million members, donors and partners and more than 50 years of planting trees all over the world.

Greenpeace is a global network of independent campaigning organizations that use peaceful protest and creative communication to expose global environmental problems and promote solutions essential to a green and peaceful future.

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 10 million people in over 150 countries and territories who campaign to end abuses of human rights.

The ACLU works in the courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to all people in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States. It was founded in 1920 and is our nation’s guardian of liberty.
